Introduction

Ecclesia Risk & Benefits strives to create a digital environment that is accessible for everyone, regardless of disability or assistive technology.

What do we mean by accessibility?

For us, accessibility means that as many people as possible can use our services, including those with a disability. For example, if you are blind or visually impaired, have difficulty hearing, or are unable to fully use a part of your body.

We therefore take measures to improve the accessibility of our website, documents, and digital services, and aim to comply with the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, levels A and AA.

Accessibility status

We declare that this website/service partially complies with accessibility requirements.

Measures to continue meeting accessibility requirements

We are continuously working to improve our services. We monitor changes in legislation and ensure we remain up to date with new developments. We also value feedback from our clients about their experiences with our services.

Measures we have taken to safeguard accessibility include:

  • Regular checks for accessibility issues
  • Ensuring all new website features are accessible upon release
  • Training staff on digital accessibility and its application
  • Using accessible PDF files whenever possible
  • Re-assessing website accessibility in Q4 2025 and implementing necessary improvements

As an insurance broker, we are supervised primarily by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), which monitors compliance with accessibility regulations. We are also required to report any non-compliance ourselves and ensure corrective measures are taken. To do this, we have procedures in place, including analyzing client complaints and inquiries, as well as conducting internal checks to verify compliance.

Test results

This website/service was last tested on 25-08-2025. The assessment was performed by:

  • External testing by Accessible Minds

Currently, the website complies with 47 out of 56 success criteria. However, accessibility issues remain in the areas of link text, color contrast, bypassing content blocks with assistive technology, and alternative text for images.

Compliance with the four WCAG principles:

  • Perceivable: 14 out of 20
  • Operable: 18 out of 20
  • Understandable: 13 out of 13
  • Robust: 2 out of 3

We are working hard on improving the outstanding non compliances.

Non accessible content

Despite our efforts, certain parts of our website are not yet fully accessible to all visitors. Below is an overview:

Component  Expected solution
Our website contains various PDF files (e.g. service documents, comparison charts, whitepapers). The legal requirements for accessible PDFs are complex, and it is not always possible to meet them for every file. We are training staff to improve PDF accessibility but have no control over files provided by third parties. If you encounter problems with a PDF, please contact us via email at marketing@ecclesia.nl so we can find a suitable solution.Q4 2025
Employee photos include the employee’s name, but these are not always read aloud correctly by screen readers. We will ensure the alternative texts are improved.Q4 2025
Dropdown filters in the article overview do not always describe their purpose (e.g. filtering by theme or sector). We will correct these so the purpose is clear.Q4 2025
The navigation menu has insufficient color contrast when hovering. Mandatory form fields also have insufficient contrast. As an alternative, you may email info@ecclesia.nl or call us. Links on colored backgrounds also lack sufficient contrast, which will be corrected.Q4 2025
At 400% zoom, some text on the article overview page falls out of view. We will fix this so that all text remains visible.Q4 2025

Future improvements

We continue to work on improving digital accessibility. In the coming months, the actions listed in the table above will be implemented.

This statement has been prepared based on the model of the European Accessibility Directive and adapted for use in the Netherlands.
